Texas Hill Country Art

View some of Texas’ treasured Western Hill Country Art, masterpieces that highlight the landscape surrounding our beautiful area. A treasure trove of Western art that recalls the exciting era of cowboys, Native Americans, settlers, and mountain men who tamed the West, viewing this collection is a great way to spend an afternoon out of the heat. The Museum of Western Art showcases an impressive display of Western treasures on canvas and in bronze and stone. The museum is housed in a work of art of its own, a structure with heavy timbers and retaining walls of stacked limestone that resembles a traditional hacienda.

The museum has a children’s gallery that features hands-on exhibits, including dressing up in costume and learning about the challenging life of pioneers on the Western wagon trains in the 1800s. Before you leave, pick up a souvenir in the small gift shop to take home with you! This museum comes highly recommended and is sure to be a hit during your stay at River Inn Resort & Conference Center.
